Bifolium printed on vellum of the opening leaf and its conjugate [a2 and a9] of Bruni's Historia fiorentina (Venice: Jacobus Rebeus, 12 February 1476). This is the only known vellum copy that is illuminated. The decoration consists of a large historiated initial with a portrait of the author holding a book, a border on three sides with interlaced vines and flowers, and a roundel at the bottom containing a coat of arms. Annotations to the text are in pale red ink in a fine humanist hand. The illumination and decoration may be by Francesco di Antonio, del Chierico. Goff B-1247; GW5612. Documentation accompanies the bifolium.
